Nascent
A new beginning,
emergent, blossoming,
coming forth,
a foray into being.
No beginning,
no end,
not new,not old.
Undefined, realigned,
becoming awareness,
the ever present breath that extols life,
and invites,
the breather,
to be.

Rumi On Death
Our death is our wedding with eternity.
What is the secret? "God is One."
The sunlight splits when entering the windows of the house.
This multiplicity exists in the cluster of grapes;
It is not in the juice made from the grapes.
For he who is living in the Light of God,
The death of the carnal soul is a blessing.
Regarding him, say neither bad nor good,
For he is gone beyond the good and the bad.
Fix your eyes on God and do not talk about what is invisible,
So that he may place another look in your eyes.
It is in the vision of the physical eyes
That no invisible or secret thing exists.
But when the eye is turned toward the Light of God
What thing could remain hidden under such a Light?
Although all lights emanate from the Divine Light
Don't call all these lights "the Light of God";
It is the eternal light which is the Light of God,
The ephemeral light is an attribute of the body and the flesh.
...Oh God who gives the grace of vision!
The bird of vision is flying towards You with the wings of desire.
ARE YOU A STRONG WOMAN OR A WOMAN OF STRENGTH?
A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape ...
a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.
A strong woman isn't afraid of anything...
a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear.
A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her ...
a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.
A strong woman makes mistakes & avoids the same in the future…
a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected
blessings and capitalizes on them.
A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face ...
a woman of strength wears grace.
A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey
a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she
will become strong.

The Way is Always Right – December 2, 07
Stay with the way,
It takes you to the center,
Where pauses… although momentary, blossom with life’s delights.
Just sit and allow the wind to whisper into your breath –
Here is where life mingles with death.
The moss grows between the cracks,
The circadians buzz the elemental notes
and bring together the do’s and the don’ts.
Nay, this nasty fly – that’s now in my eye,
Brushed away and back again,
Will it ever learn?
It’s not wanted here ---because I can’t see with my eyes closed ---
Or can I? Am I right?
The way knows.
On the Path – Janaury 2, 08
On the path I found:
Light and dark,
Remnants of the past –
Nuances I can swat away, others that will curse the day.
BOLD steps declare my presence, giving way to a callous mind,
shaped by ancestral codes; hidden from the blind.
Only open eyes see – what’s inside me –
No one – no thing,
A thought waiting to be massaged, caressed, discarded and released.
All clearing the way --- for the path to turn,
And become… another moment of light and dark.
Come, Come! – Janaury 22, 08
Come, come, all who desire and yearn for truth.
Come, come with me…
The wind, the bird, the human being,
Whose footprints are laying new ground.
Come, come from the darkness to the light,
Where troubles ascend from the night.
I Am the breath, the heartbeat, the stone.
Come to tomorrow, from yesterday, into today.
All the way… Come. Come to Now.
Time to Rise – February 23, 08
Take care of me,
I can hide no longer.
You have called me out.
Bring your light, compassion
and love,
To irrigate the impurities of neglect.
I am all of you,
swaying in the breeze – laughing in the trees,
floating in the clouds –
underneath the bows and the robes
of the monks who
walk in silence.
Give me your time and be mine
so we may rise and walk steadfast.
George Carlin's Views on Aging
Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.
"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.
You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.
"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!
But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?
You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.
But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!
So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.
You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!
You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."
Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them".
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9 Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10.Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Do share this with someone. We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!
