Dylan Knew

Guest Blogger: Janet Weissman

Do you remember the Bob Dylan lyric from the song Back Pages?

“I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.”

In our younger years we often accepted what we were told to believe and do.Questioning was not welcomed and yet, it is the function of youth to question.

Part of our growth involves changing our minds about certain beliefs that perhaps we inherited from our families. Another possibility is the realization old beliefs no longer serve our core beliefs.

There was a time I believed my opportunities would diminish as I had additional birthdays. Once there were 50 candles on the cake, I thought there would no longer be time to write a book, start a business, or find a new relationship.

I’m here to testify two of those former thoughts no longer hold truth for me. I’m positive the third old belief will also fall.

Looking back, can you identify any old beliefs you held at one point in life that now you recognize as no longer true?

If you are in Florida, let’s talk about it together this Wednesday, July 17th from 10:30 - 12.

Join me, Janet Weissman, throughout the summer, at the Women's Wisdom Circle, as we continue our growth, together!
