Collective Concern

The fabric of the American Dream is splitting —the tear is exposing deep wounds. This week we've been thrust, head-on, to face the facts and confront the truth of what is is being exposed in our great nation.

I’m not going to reiterate the statistics, nor will I use this moment to be a crusader. Rather I will implore each and everyone of us to be the light we need in this world and to shine our prayers upon those that are struggling, suffering and grasping on to a shattered dream.

Dr. Larry Dossey, the author of the book, Prayer is Good Medicine, informs us that prayers travel in a non-local field higher than words and indeed reach the intended.

Please, pray for those affected by Domestic Terrorism, Pray for our Leaders, Pray for your friends who are out of sorts; petition and ask for help for our nation, for each other, for the restoration of sanity and for the children of this nation who are returning to school.

I’m including a prayer that Marianne Williamson offered on a day of unbearable sorrow....

Dear God, We pray for our brothers and sisters in El Paso. Please give them comfort in this hour of their agony. May those who are wounded survive and heal. May those who died be at peace. May those who grieve be given the strength to bear this unbearable moment. At this time of catastrophe, dear God, enlighten us and lift us up. Cast out all darkness and bless all hearts. Amen
