Tuning In

We’ve now had five, six, and in some cases, seven weeks of sheltering in place and staying home; laying low and tuning in to ourselves.

From virtual gatherings to Zoom classes, each of us has had experiences that will forever be etched in our memories while confirming our adaptability, creativity and resilience.

I’ve done my best to draw upon the many tools and techniques I’ve learned to make this time valuable. I’ve tuned in to my inner wisdom and found an abundance of time to tune into nature. I’ve tuned into both Cuomo's, Netflix, Acorn, Hulu, CNN, Audible, Instagram...

you know what I mean.

How about you? What have you been tuning into? What new insights about yourself have you gleaned? What have you touched into that gives you strength and resolve? What will your takeaways be from this experience?

One of my forays during this time has been facilitating Zoom classes — and I recently remembered something that happened years ago.

In 1993 my boss, who hosted a daily radio show in Boca, invited me to co-host. A nervous, “OK” emanated from my mouth while my stomach flip-flopped. “I can do it,” I told myself, just like the little engine that could.

At high noon in mid May 1993 - I sat in the studio, headphones and mike in place with butterflies flapping their wings in my belly. The “On-Air” light in the engineers booth went on. It was in that moment, when the airwaves were opened, that something inside awakened. I had a chill run through my spine and the crown of my head tingled. Many have called it different things… I know in the depth of my being it was the ultimate, “Being in the Zone” experience.

From that day on, I took to radio broadcasting the way a duck takes to water.

It was a meant-to-be experience!

Thousands of interviews later — and in the midst of these COVID times, I was asked to host an interview program, which begins tomorrow. I am soooo excited! I love live interviews and hope you’ll join me on this part of our journey together. Possibly a prelude to a podcast…ya think???
